Soil Globe Consulting Services has performed 250+ Standard Penetration Tests on soil stratum during the geotechnical investigation. The firm has well-known for performing a test in accordance with IS 2131: 1981 in different soil strata to assess the soil characteristics. Soil Globe Consulting Services can derive safe bearing capacity from SPT-N value with supportive research. The test also helped to collect disturbed soil samples during the investigation.
The test includes drawing a split spoon sampler 450 mm into the stratum and counting resistance for each 150 mm penetration. The Individual resistance was counted for the last and second last 150 mm summed to obtain the SPT N Value. A 63.5 Kg hammer ‘monkey’ was used to penetrate the sampler with an impact blow. The N value obtained corrected the overburden and dilatancy in the case of sand.
